Start Here - International Student Orientation Summer 2019 has ended

Airport Reception
TRU World teams will be meeting students at the airport between 8:30am–5:00pm and 7:00pm–12:00am.

During reception, TRU staff and student volunteers are at the Kamloops Airport to welcome and assist you with finding a taxi or a shuttle bus. Bring cash for transportation (about CAD$40 for taxi, less than CAD$20 for shuttle).

Homestay students are met by their host family at a pre-arranged arrival time.

Students arriving outside of these dates can request a pick-up service for a fee of CAD$75. Taxis/shuttle services are available at the airport at a lower cost. There is also a free telephone you can use to call the taxi or shuttle from the airport upon arrival.

Learn about medical insurance and sign up for the British Columbia Medical Service Plan (MSP).
  • Check in  and confirm your course registration status.
  • Attend Degree Planning Sessions.
  • Explore the TRU campus and learn about some secret study places and some really cool chill spots by going for a campus tour with a TRU student volunteer.
  • Learn how to use your myTRU account and other important apps to help you succeed.
  • SPECIAL - Open bank account and connect your mobile phone with local provider right on Campus!
  • Receive complimentary TRU swag bag.

Become a PRO at myTRU.ca
Attend the session and learn about your myTRU account. Learn how to access it and get the maximum use of it.
- Assistance with log in and default password reset;
- Address/email/phone update (yes, it is VERY important to do - come and learn why);
- myTRU email access and auto forwarding. You have your own TRU email and, as a TRU student, you need to check daily in order not to miss important notification from a professor or registration office;
- Learn how to order transcripts (and what transcript is);
- Look up your courses and how to plan your future semesters;
- $$$ check your student account balance (yes, you can do it online!)
- and much more!

Sessions run every 30 minutes. No registration required.
